11. Can collaborative projects be submitted?
- Absolutely! Collaborative projects are encouraged. Please include information about each contributor’s role when submitting.
12. Are there deadlines for submission?
- Submissions are accepted on a rolling basis, but deadlines may apply to specific missions. All active missions will update deadlines as they near official launch dates and times. Due to the nature of space launch logistics and weather cooperation, launch deadlines can change on short notice. Check our Missions page for the latest deadlines, and any of those who have already submitted and been accepted, will be contacted and given immediate notice of any changes.
13. What happens if my work is selected?
- If selected, your work will be digitized, archived, and prepared for launch on an AstroVault mission. You will be officially notified and can share details for future audiences who may discover your work in the cosmos.
14. What if I have a physical object I want to submit?
- We offer a complete detailed 3D digital scanning service for physical items as well 2d image to 3d model conversion, converting them into formats suitable for space storage. Please mention your interest in this service on the project submission form on the Get Involved page.
15. How long will my work be preserved in space?
- AstroVaults are engineered to last for thousands of years if not millions under the right circumstances, using advanced materials and technologies to protect against space’s harsh conditions. Your work will orbit or be placed on planetary surfaces for millennia, awaiting discovery by future generations.
16. Can I contribute to multiple AstroVault missions?
- Yes, multiple contributions are welcome! Each submission is evaluated individually, allowing you to represent different facets of human creativity and knowledge across missions.
